Oaks

Welcome to Oaks Resource Provision

Oaks is a Warwickshire Resource Provision based within Glendale Infant School which allows children to attend mainstream school, whilst accessing specialist provision. Oaks meets the needs of children with Communication and Interaction (C and I) needs including autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). Children in this provision will all have an Education, Health and Care Plan and placement is agreed by the Local Authority Provision Panel.

At Glendale we aim to ensure that all pupils regardless of ability, gender, background or culture are able to achieve to their full potential. To achieve this we ensure that:

• School organisation of SEND is be consistent with the requirements of the Code of Practice

• All members of the school community are valued

• All children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum

• The curriculum is differentiated and supported in a variety of ways

• Parents and school work together to ensure progress

• Specialist help is sought from outside agencies as necessary

The children who attend Oaks have, or may have difficulty integrating fully into a mainstream school, but will be supported to gradually and carefully access mainstream activities. As every child is unique, the timescale for this will depend upon the individual child.

In Oaks we provide a happy, nurturing and safe environment where children are valued and motivated. They are able to access a personalised curriculum, adapted to suit their needs and interests so that we can respond to individual strengths and difficulties. Oaks has its own outdoor area, as well as access to the Reception outdoor area. It provides a sensory-friendly space and an environment which promotes communication in many different ways, allowing everyone to communicate in their own way. We strive to provide an environment where children feel safe and secure, allowing them to highlight their individuality and succeed to the best of their abilities.

There will be a maximum of 8 children in Oaks, all with an Education, Health and Care Plan, and they will be supported by the lead teacher, Miss Wykes, alongside a team of support staff.

We are excited to work alongside the local authority to provide this provision for the children of Warwickshire. For more information on Warwickshire Resource Provisions and information about the county admissions process, please click on the following link;
